LIVE A MINDFUL LIFE

Four Nights of (Free) Talks, Live and Online

May 13 @ 5:00 pm - May 16 @ 6:00 pm ET

Additional Event Dates: 14, 15, 16

You can view the live videos here.

Hello meditator. I’m writing to let you know about a free multi-day online webinar I’m offering. It will take place over four consecutive evenings, May 13-16, from 5:00 p.m. ET to 6:00 p.m. ET. (All sessions will be recorded so don’t worry if you can’t attend live.)

I’m offering this program because I’ve heard from so many of you with the following questions:

Meditation is changing the way I am in the world. I want to learn more. How do I take the next step?

I’m interested in Buddhism but not in becoming a Buddhist. I would like to learn more about the philosophy but I am not sure how. Can you recommend a non-dogmatic, non-lingo ridden way?

You often speak about the importance of community (or sangha in Sanskrit). Why is this so important? How can an online sangha support me?

To answer these questions, I invite you to a four-night extravaganza of teachings, conversation, and meditation practice. Here is what we will cover:

May 13
Meditation as a Spiritual Practice

  • What is the difference between meditation for self improvement and meditation for transformation and growth?
  • How can I tell the difference between new age nonsense and true spirituality?
  • What are the main phases of the Buddhist path and how might I experience them without being a Buddhist?
  • A complete overview of meditation practice and refresher on how to practice (followed by a short guided practice session).

May 14
Establishing the Foundation

  • The 3 essential qualities that create the foundation
  • Simplicity: How can we possibly embrace it as life becomes speedier and more complex?
  • Discipline: The central importance of this quality and how to overcome the sense of inadequacy we all feel about our own discipline
  • Renunciation: It’s not just for monastics anymore 🙂 How to know what to accept and what to reject in everyday life to support your inner journey
  • The 3 main obstacles to spiritual practice and their antidotes

May 15
Opening Your Heart

  • Why is meditation so famously associated with compassion?
  • Vulnerability as a source of power and vitality
  • How do we practice compassion in an uncompassionate world?
  • 6 actions that change everything: generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, absorption, and wisdom

May 16
Experiencing Magic

  • Every moment is a communication on one of three levels
  • The role and importance of creativity
  • Inviting drala and the five steps to creating a sacred world
  • The importance and power of the 3 jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha) and how you can bring them into your life in a non-religious way
  • Going forward.

Our gatherings will take place on the Zoom video conference platform. We’ll send you a reminder email with the link to participate shortly before the first evening.
