Hello, dear meditator,

Probably the most frequent question I hear from you guys is, “Why am I so bad at showing up for my meditation practice?” In this video, I try to offer some advice about what may be missing. Spoiler alert: it is not self-discipline.

It turns out we need three components to keep our practice consistent. However, we usually only think about one of them. The other two are right at your fingertips!

Hi! I find the intrusive thoughts tend to be about things coming up in the future, like conversations with work colleagues or even thinking to write to you. Why does the planning brain become so active in silence? I also find myself tensing physically when these thoughts come. Do you have any thoughts on the physical tensing and emotional anxiety that comes from my future planning thoughts?
